Welcome to The Crayons Festival
The school has a role to play in
Parents are the first and the most powerful influence on their child’s learning, development, health, and wellbeing. They are the child’s first role models with respect to values, appropriate behavior, beliefs, and traditions. Research has shown that children perform better in school if their parents are involved in their education.
At The Crayons we work together with parents to ensure that both home and school environments provide a mutually supportive framework for children’s learning and development.
A collaborative approach to learning
When children see both parents and teachers working together to support their learning, they develop crucial ideas about the importance of positive relationships. This in turn leads to parents trusting and respecting teachers and their work, thus allowing teachers to confidently nurture their children. Parents are an active part of celebrations, events, and customs of the school and contribute to the early learning experience in its entirety.
Making children’s learning visible
Through student-led conferences, exhibitions, and show and tell sessions, parents are provided a window into the learning methodology at The Crayons. By involving them in the workings of the curriculum and program, parents better appreciate the value of play-based learning and the school’s vision and learn about the attitudes and skills that their children are developing.
